Sadie Lady is 2!

Can't believe my baby turned 2 on May 5th! A proper Cinco de Mayo fiesta was in order...

This was my best attempt at a festive cake...the cookie on top is supposed to be a sombrero (just use your imagination).

I had fun decorating with all the bright colors!

The birthday girl loved having everyone's attention and we were so happy to have lots of family there to help celebrate.

She got all kinds of fun, girly presents...

There's no such thing as too many accessories according to this little lady...

I had no idea she would LOVE the pinata so much, but it was a big HIT...ha, ha!

We just love our little Sadie lady! I can't imagine life without her. She brings so much joy and happiness to our home. I wish I could freeze time for a while because this is such a fun age. She definitely has her "terrible 2" moments, but overall it's just plain fun to see her learn new things and watch her sweet personality shine. Happy birthday baby big girl!

All Things Sadie...at 17 Months

Wonder where she learned this from? Must be a little girl with 2 big brothers. It's so funny to see what your kids get fascinated with. This girl loves underwear - either strung up on her arms like a hand bag or on her head like a hat.

She also has a new found love of coloring...
I love the way she sprawls out on the floor - I just think it's the cutest thing. She LOVES to get in the craft cabinet while she's at it...
Not so cute, but it keeps her happy while I'm on the computer (most likely pinning away on Pinterest...haha!).

Sadie's other favorite things:
  • Trying on all my jewelry and accessories while I get ready each morning.
  • After some cooler weather last week, she has a new obsession with her winter hat and pink cheetah jacket - if she sees them, she MUST put them on (even if it's 85 degrees like today).
  • Shoes, shoes, and more shoes (she is her mother's daughter).
  • Rocking her baby doll and pushing her in the stroller - pretty much the cutest thing ever.
  • Shaking her little booty to good tunes.
  • Swinging and going on the slides at the park - she laughs the whole time!
  • Seeing her daddy off to work each morning - they are so cute with each other, it melts my heart.
  • Her binky obsession is still going strong. She doesn't always have one in her mouth, but she likes to carry them around and she has to sleep with one in each hand (and one in her mouth).
  • She's much more emotional than the boys were at her age, but she's also super loving and cuddly. Just don't make her angry or you're in for quite the diva fit!
In short, she's the princess around here and she knows it...
Just look at that face...I want to go kiss her cheeks off right now!
We love our sweet Sadie lady!

Sadie at 12 Months

Sadie had her 12 month check-up yesterday and here are her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs. 4.5 oz.  (17%)
Height: 30 inches (73%)
Head: 18 1/8 inches (74%)

I was pretty surprised to see her weight... I've never had a baby below 50% on anything before, but I guess all her walking around has burned off some of that weight. The doctor was surprised too, but he said as long as her head is growing like it should (which it is), she's probably getting enough calories and there's no need to worry. I still can't believe she's a year old - just look at how much she's grown...

Other things about Sadie at 12 months include:
  • She loves gathering things and carrying them around...like pajamas, shoes, diapers, blankets, towels, etc. (basically anything that gets left on the floor by her brothers - there's plenty to choose from!)
  • She loves dress-up (and real) jewelry. If you are wearing a necklace or will give her your bracelet, she'll be your best friend.
  • She loves baby yogurt and most table foods...she especially loves to eat anything off mom or dad's plate. She's also completely weaned and does great with a sippy cup of milk.
  • She still only has 2 teeth, but the top 2 are about to break through any day now.
  • She's got some natural rhythm and likes to "dance".
  • She loves to wave bye-bye to daddy as he leaves for work every morning, and she gets very excited to see him when he comes home.
  • She thinks her brothers are super funny...until they get too wild with her...then she thinks they're scary.
  • She loves bath time. She also loves running around naked with just her hooded towel on afterward.
  • As much as she loves her daddy, I think her favorite place to be is on her mama's hip (and I love it...most of the time!)
In short, we think she's the cutest, sweetest, most special little girl in the whole wide world...we LOVE our Sadie Lady!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sadie Lady!

I know everyone says this, but I just can't believe my baby is already 1 year old! The time has flown by, but I sure have loved every minute with her. I may have gone a bit overboard with her party, but I just couldn't help myself from going all girly after 5 years of nothing but boy parties...

There were lots of sweet treats to choose from...
But none of them could compare to the sweetness of the birthday girl...
She wasn't too sure what to think about all of us singing to her...

But it didn't take her long to get after her birthday cake... she has a sweet tooth like her mama!
Time to open presents...
She put on quite a show for her captive audience, clapping for herself after each one...
She got lots of cute girly outfits and some fun toys too. It was adorable to see her walking around pushing her new baby stroller - she knew exactly what to do with it...
Here's to hoping the next year goes by a little slower...I'm definitely not ready for a 2 year old! Happy birthday, sweet baby girl!

Mo Sings!

Yep, it's another video. I'm really on a roll today.

Matt Mo was too cute singing with his preschool class at their Easter party today. You can also see Sadie Lady putting her new walking skills to use in the background!

Haha...love how she tried to steal some of the kids' eggs. Can't blame her for trying :)
