My Goofballs...

What happens when daddy's in charge of getting jammies on, you ask?...
Steve Erkle alert! Ben thinks it's hilarious...not sure if he'll still think that when he sees these 10 years from now, but oh well...
Another one of Ben's favorites lately...
It's like those old couch cushions were made for surfing the stairs!

Not much else to report on as of yet. Ben wakes up every morning asking if it's "pumpkin time" so hopefully we'll be able to make it to the pumpkin patch very soon... dang rain. Hope you're all having a happy (and less wet) fall!

The Zoo!

Since September is almost over, I figure I better post about the one fun thing we did this month before it ends. Not to mention the fact that I was chastised yesterday by my little sister for not updating the blog (she's one to talk). Anyway, a few weeks ago Bree and I decided it was time for a little field trip. We packed up our little monkeys and headed to the Fort Worth Zoo...

Mo is just the right size to peek through the hole in the fence...
Ben got up close and personal with a chimp... monkey see, monkey do...I loved the giraffes - they're even more beautiful in person...
Another gorgeous animal was the white tiger. We were so happy she decided to wake up and say hi to us (most of the animals were napping while we were there)...
The birds were definitely not sleepy though, and the kids LOVED trying to feed them...
Hands down, the hit of the day were the penguins. The moms were lovin' the air conditioning and the kids just couldn't get enough of the friendly little guys...
You could tell the penguins really like to put on a show. Guess they don't get dressed up for nothin' (ha ha)...
The petting zoo was pitiful - only a handful of animals and you couldn't even really get that close. That didn't deter Mo too much from trying...
The other big hit (or perhaps the main reason for being there at all in Ben's eyes) was the train...

Can you tell 3 little boys were VERY anxiously waiting for their turn? It was well worth it to see the smiles on their faces...
We ended up riding it a couple times. How could you refuse these faces?
We'll definitely be heading back again sometime soon!

What a Week!

Soccer is officially underway! We had our first practice this week and I just couldn't get over how cute Ben looked in all his gear...He specifically asked for "shark hair" as he calls it since that's the team name. I can already tell there are going to be a few issues with Ben's cooperation since daddy is the coach, but overall I'd say it went pretty well for the first week...

Ben was good and tired after all that running around...Mommy was good and tired too after chasing this mop top around the park during practice...
(I just couldn't resist throwing in a photo of this kid!) The very next morning, Ben had another first for the year - the 1st day of preschool...

He did great! He walked right in to Mrs. Angela's house like he owned the place and got busy exploring his new classroom and meeting his classmates (most of whom he already knows from church). He couldn't wait to show me all the things he did when I picked him up a few hours later. Benny Boy had quite the eventful week... and he loved every minute of it!
